“Traviata” is the first chapter of a project by Monica Casadei dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi, which aims to translate the most famous melodramas of the most beloved Italian composer into the language of dance. Violetta's is a story in which the sense of the end flows with each raising of the chalice and, behind the waltzes, the evil that awaits. Behind the holidays, the rot of a company for sale, empty. In his relationship with Alfredo vibrates the loving sentiment of those who hope, tragically linked to the feeling of knowing that everything ends, while the conflict between the individual and society, public facade and private feeling, is consumed.

What we will see will therefore be a "Traviata" read from Violetta's point of view. Violetta against everyone. Violetta at the center of a male-dominated society expressed by a choir in black. Violetta multiplied in many feminine elements, in many sections of the heart. A despised Violetta, who longs for something pure, even if she is sick, but a courtesan. Violetta against whom the bourgeois rules expressed by Alfredo's father, Giorgio Germont, are the symbol of a society with unhealthy morals. The invocation "Love me, Alfredo" becomes a death cry, a cry of despair, an outpouring of loneliness, the game is not played on decoration, but on the explosion of a physical energy of pain, mirror of the soul.
